ANDOVER MUSIC

ABOUT DANIELLE

I have loved piano for as long as I can remember.  My mother said when doing an "All About Me" activity in my 3-year-old preschool class, when asked what I wanted to be when I grew up, I responded "a piano player."  And now, years later as an adult, I can say that hasn't changed. Nothing I do brings me as much joy as being at the piano and helping others grow in their love of music as well.

After taking piano lessons throughout my childhood, I went on to study piano at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville under Dr. Linda Perry.  During my undergraduate years, I had the opportunity to perform in a variety of settings, including as accompanist of the university's Treble Chorus, violin studio, and in solo and chamber performances at the university and in the greater St. Louis area.  Now, after spending a number of years teaching in the public school setting, I have made the exciting decision to pursue a Master of Music in Piano Performance and am currently working towards this at Eastern Kentucky University.

I am very passionate about helping others to experience music and all of the benefits playing an instrument offers.  I love helping others explore and pursue the types of music that bring them the greatest joy and fulfillment to play.  As individual interests and goals vary, not all lessons I teach look the same.  Some students' lessons may have a primary focus on playing sheet music and learning classical repertoire from each musical period, while some may have a greater focus on playing collaboratively with other instrumentalists or accompanying a school choir, while still others may have a particular focus on learning chords and playing lead sheets in church worship settings. Or any combination of the above.  Being a musician is not a one-size-fits-all scenario, and I want to support my students in finding their passion and developing the skills needed to become active, lifelong musicians.
